I am engaged to be married next year, and I have been diagnosed with genital herpes. I haven't told my fiancé about the herpes and I'm not planning on doing so. My best friend knows about it, and she says that I should tell him. But she doesn't understand how hard it is. I'm afraid to tell him - I can't tell him."
How would her life be different if she had chosen abstinence? Would she have anything to worry about?

Please do not get married to this young man without telling him about your situation. It is not fair to him to not have the opportunity to make the decision if this is what he wants with his life. You are playing with his life and he should have the opportunity to say this is what he wants.
The person that you contracted this terrible disease from I'm sure did not tell you and that was not fair. Think of how you felt when you found out. You could loose him forever if he finds out the hard way. He may leave you or even hurt you. Please think about what you are doing to him.
By telling him he may RESPECT you and Love you even more than he does now. He may be understanding, we have all made some Serious Mistakes in life.
Take him to the doctors with you so you can both get an education on this disease and by all means take your meds so that you have less chance of infecting him or anyone else.
